But, I've read your reasons and in the end (especially for a personal blog site) the easiest solution is king. For me, it was easier to theme in Drupal than WP. I felt too constrained. As you know already, I like the new layout. Very clean and a pleasant upgrade from your previous. My only suggestion would be to enlarge the comment box.
